Arley Hall & Gardens is a place of enormous character, charm and interest so it’s no surprise that it is so popular with couples looking for the perfect wedding venue. Visitors are frequently struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere and the feeling that Arley is a much-cherished family home. The Gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, are outstanding for their vitality, variety and historical interest and are the perfect place to take a bride and groom for a walk for their portrait session.
Morning Bridal Preparations
Katie began her day in the specially designed bridal room at Arley Hall which provides a great space for the bride and her bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done before getting in to their dresses ready for the big day. Meanwhile George was downstairs checking all the details were just right before greeting all the guests as they arrived.
Wedding Reception at Arley hall
Katie & George had special permission from Lord & Lady Ashbrook for their wedding ceremony to take place in the gorgeous chapel at Arley Hall which included a lovely service from the vicar and a couple of heartfelt readings from 2 of their close friends. Following the ceremony the guests congregated in front of the hall in the glorious sunshine to congratulate the newlyweds while enjoying drinks and canapés. I then took the bride and groom off for a quick portrait session in the stunning colourful gardens before returning the couple to the hall where they were to have a smaller wedding ceremony with a registrar that would legally pronounce them as a married couple. The newlyweds and the guests then returned back to the hall for some fantasticly funny and emotional speeches before enjoying the wedding breakfast. It had then gone dark as the guests made their way across the courtyard to the evening reception so they all congregated in the barn with sparklers to again congratulate the couple before the music started and all the guests danced late in to the night.
