I first met Gemma and Dave 12 months ago when they came to see me about booking me for their wedding photography and I could tell straight away that Gemma was really passionate about planning the wedding of her dreams. All of Gemma’s planning….and I’m sure Dave was involved in the planning somewhere along the line…. came together perfectly. According to Gemma’s best friend and chief bridesmaid Laura, the one and only reason for wanting to get married at The Shireburn Arms in April was because of the field of baby lambs at the back of the venue and Gemma LOVES baby lambs. I think the highlight of Gemma’s day was seeing a couple of the lambs wandering in to the gardens of The Shireburn as we were out there for a few photographs.
The one thing that didn’t quite go to plan was the weather. On my drive through Longridge towards Hurst Green I could see snow on the hills of the Ribble Valley and throughout the day we had rain, a torrential hail storm, a few rumbles of thunder, plenty of cold wind and luckily the occasional but brief bit of sunshine. Thankfully Gemma came prepared for the weather with a lovely heart design umbrella which I managed to incorporate in to a few of the photos.
